I spent a wonderful afternoon baking scones with the ladies from the Picton CWA. I measured, sieved, kneaded and baked with a terrific result of producing some yummy scones for afternoon tea. I can’t wait to do this again soon.
I was delighted to be able to hand over keys to new appliances for our men and women who volunteer and work tirelessly for the RFS within our community. New appliances delivered were Bargo Brigade – One (1) Category 11 tanker; Tahmoor Brigade – One (1) Category 1 tanker; Buxton Brigade – One (1) Category 1 tanker; Lakesland Brigade – One (1) Category 9 tanker; Wollondilly District – Two (2) Group Officer vehicles
The Bowral Long Lunch is held in October each year and raises money for the BDCU Children’s Foundation. The Foundation largely funds the registered nurse for child and adolescent mental health liaison at Bowral and District Hospital. It’s great to be a part of such a worthwhile cause for our community.
Appin Gym & Fitness Park is a great initiative of Appin Chamber of Commerce and Illawarra Coals’ Community Partnerships Programme. It is great to see so many people in the community utilising such a fantastic fitness resource such as this.
We are privileged to have such beautiful pristine bushland surrounding Wollondilly. I enjoy going bushwalking with community groups and my family.

I was proud to ensure that all of our schools received flashing lights. Children are some of our most vulnerable road users, and we know school zone flashing lights are an effective way of warning drivers and riders to slow down to improve safety.
It was great to open the new canteen for Tahmoor Netball. They are a great team and well deserving of this new facility to keep up with the growing popularity of netball as a sport.
Since being closed from 1998 by the former government, Warragamba Dam wall has been re-opened for the public to walk along and enjoy the sweeping views of beautiful Lake Burragorang. Warragamba Dam has long been a popular tourist destination and access to the dam wall will further enhance the visitor experience.
The cricket pitch facilities at Tahmoor Public School were recently relocated and reconstructed. The current and future students of the school now have a fantastic new practice area to enjoy.
It was fantastic to launch Ability Links in Mittagong. Ability Links supports people with a disability, their families and carers to live the life they want, as valued member of their community. They do a great job for our community; thank you.
I hosted a charity golf match at Antill Park Golf Club and was able to raise in excess of $2,000 which I proudly present to Challenge Southern Highlands. The guys do a fantastic job in our community and their garden centre at Welby is worth a visit.

This year I joined the team at Springetts Arcade in Bowral and helped to spread the message of the great work they do and support Daffodil Day. I also signed up to support their campaign for extra palliative care services.
